Studio Information
My style is one that embraces the everyday moments that are often lost in the shuffle of our day to day lives. My goal is to capture the expressions of life that are real, natural, and reflective of your family and children. The images create an impact because they carry with them an emotion that is open, fun, and emotional, and I value the connections I’m fortunate enough to witness in your session.
During each photo session I strive to capture the unique spirit of your child. I want your images to portray you or your family as they are in everyday life, as I feel that those are the moments to cherish. I won’t do a ton of posing, just subtle directing, and use little if any props in my session. Rather, I will seek to draw out the natural expressions of your child instead of a forced smile. My goal is to celebrate each person’s individual spirit so that you can look back on your images and instantly remember how you were feeling at that moment in time.
The studio is located directly on 4 North Main St in the heart of the Pittsford Village. Just look for the big clock on the corner!
Studio Hours and Availability:
The studio is open by appointment only.
Photo Shoots:
Sessions are typically scheduled in the morning between 9-11am or in the late afternoon depending on the location of your session.
Pick-up and Ordering Sessions:
Pick-up and ordering sessions are done by appointment only on weekdays and weekday evenings. Evening appointments book quickly so please let me know as soon as possible if you require an evening appt.

All portrait sessions take place on location or in our studio, using natural light. This unique style of photography is one that I’ve worked hard to perfect as I believe that a natural environment captures the true spirit of your child. Sessions can take place at your home or at a location of your choice. In addition to the studio location, I also offer my personal home for outdoor sessions as we have barns, fields, and gorgeous light on our property:-)!The most important thing to consider is where your child will feel most comfortable. I am available for travel – please contact me for specific rates.
Scheduling:
Most indoor sessions are scheduled in the mid-morning, as that tends to offer the best natural lighting. A typical session generally lasts 1-2 hours but I’ll take as much time as needed. Please book your newborn sessions within the first two weeks of life (the earlier the better!). Weekend sessions book very quickly so please call as soon as possible if you wish to have your session on those days. During your session I will take a variety of images and from those will choose the best 20-30 images to be viewed at your viewing session. Please note that since I use all natural light sessions may need to be rescheduled due to inclement weather. The full session fee is due prior to your session date to hold your spot.
Viewing Session Information:
Images will be ready for your viewing in approximately 3 weeks after your session. An ordering appointment will be scheduled at that time at our studio. Your personal ordering appointment is the time to place orders for prints so please have everyone who will be involved in the decision-making process present at the appointment. Please note that all proofs are the property of Amanda Kinton Photography unless purchased and all unordered images are subject to a 30 day post session purge policy.
Clothing:
Choosing what to wear for your portrait session can often be the most difficult part of the process. While the focus will always be on the connection between you and your family, selecting clothing that will work well with all the individuals in photo, as well as the environment is very important. Please know that we understand that this can be stressful and are available to offer assistance throughout the process. Clients are encouraged to call or text me with any questions- some clients even send photos of possible choices for input. Our editorial style is relaxed, casual, and fun, and the clothing choices should be as well. Simple clothing is usually best therefore it is recommended to refrain from wearing clothes with strong logos, or prints. To create a unifying look the individuals being photographed should wear a similar tone. Bare feet, and birthday suits for infants, create a timeless look, as do clean lines and classic pieces. Trendy, colorful, fun clothes look great as well! I encourage each client to bring in a couple of different outfits in which to be photographed. Again, the most important aspect of a clothing choice is to pick something that will make you or your child feel the most comfortable. It is often fun to allow your child to pick out one outfit that they feel exemplifies their own sense of style!
