I’m Amanda, a photographer living in a suburb of Rochester, New York, with my husband, our four children, ranging in age from 12-1 (I know…. it’s a long story), and our dog, Scotch. We live on a beautiful property that is ideal for enjoying some quiet time at the end of the day and also just happens to be the perfect location for beautiful portraits. When the sun sets over our big red barns and flows through the field, it is some of the most glorious light I have ever seen.
Most days I feel like my head is spinning from the amount of multi-tasking that goes into running a business and a household, but I wouldn’t change anything about my life. Actually, I lied… I would like more sleep and the chance to take a shower without a one year old throwing clothes into it…one of these days, right? In my free time (which tends to be very short-lived these days), you can find me with our crew on the lake or in the backyard, enjoying a night of live music with my husband, drinking wine, and spending time with family and friends.
I can tell you more about my journey into photography when we meet (it’s not all that fancy…was a registered nurse…had a baby…took some photos…you know the rest), but what I really want you to know is…
I believe that your story is important.
I believe that your own chaotic, emotion-filled, real, authentic life is worth remembering and worthy of being shared with your kids when they grow up. There’s no need to stress about what to wear, or if the kids will behave, or if you feel overwhelmed because your newborn baby kept you up all night. I’ve been there and I get it. This is a no judgment zone – just be you, be in the moment, and love on each other. I’ll be there to help you feel comfortable, capture some amazing images, and to show you the beauty of your family.
